Description

Abell 20
PK 214 + 7.1

The Planetary Nebula Abell 20 is located in the Constellation of Canis Minor. It lies about 6500 light years away from Earth and is mainly comprised of Oxygen with a hint of Hydrogen Alpha. It is circular in shape with a Blue progenitor star in the center.

Acquisition Notes:

I didn't take RGB for the stars on this one mainly because the Moon was over half full and there was plenty of Ha to produce HOO stars. Lots of O3 in Abell 20 but Ha still showed up well in the subs. My goal was to gather equal amounts of Ha and O3 subs, but I lost it to the trees before I could finish the Ha set. Conversely, I didn't have any trouble processing this one like I did with the previous three: Abell 25, 28 and 30. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't.

Version B is the Mouseover Crop

Thanks, Eddie
